brain buster (can you figure it out?)
This is a coding i made while bored at school so i thought i'd share it with yall and see how difficult it is ^.^
it's a layered code
i started with a basic xxxx code, modified it, then added a
xxxx sequence which makes it utterly impossible to understand unless i told you exactly what each letter of the aplhabet is, and how to unlock the sequence
Clues-
1.-There are two parts to the coding
2.-The number of characters and letters of the total message is the second clue
3.-The second clue was the number of characters/letters, which is 36
36 is what kind of number?
3.5-4,9,16,25,36,49,64,81,100,121,144,169, 196, 225, . . .
4.-perfect square, there is a sequence/code that was used in the ancient times that involved this, look it up on the internet if you don't know what it is already
The Message:
QIBM IDNV EVDM GZQG MLWM AWAQ CIBC WBKL EPT.
crack out the snacks and juices because it took most of my friends 20 minutes, with me giving extra clues for them to figure it out!

1. my definition of characters is letters/numbers/symbols (no spaces)
2. 1 clue a day, otherwise it'd be too easy

it took me 10 minutes to make the code
and it took me 30 minutes to translate my message into the code
it is and will be hard, i made it for that specific reason
your just stuck on the first 1/3 of the code, which is the easiest, so expect harder stuff to come
not even at the hard part yet ^.^

I dont think im stuck on anything, i think i just have no clue.
I have some guesses though.. but have no idea how accurate they are. I'm not going to spend a 1/2 hour translating something if its just a guess.

Codes are supposed to be hard. It could be any number of somethings that involve math to get one number that you would apply to the alphabet. So far with yours i thought of a few things that could possibly be applied to the alphabet, but i don't think its that simple.. plus i've made nothing out with either of them.
What do you mean by two parts?

And at this point, the number of permutations which could lead to a solution is huge. If there is no reasoning behind your arbitrary assignment of number-to-letter then nobody can solve it short of luck until later on.
So why taunt us

hint.
there are no numbers in the message, or anywhere in the coding, who thought of that whacky idea?
the only number which is 36, is the amount of letters and the one period in the message
i said, THINK about that number, the hint i gave with the series of numbers should be a dead giveaway

Okay.. so, 36 is a perfect square, we know that.. 6x6=36, so either the number we're looking for is 6, or 4 (a square has 4 sides). therefore A=E B=F, etc or A=G, B=H, etc OR we could work backwards.. A=V, B=X, or A=T, B=U.
Or a combination of both.. plus it could be scrambled, or could be read by the first letter in each word, second, third, fourth.
like Lasareth said.. there are too many combinations that make it worth attempting at this point even.. and it might not even be what you're talking about.
This is why we have machines to break codes.
